The Hush Post: A trivial quarrel between two siblings ended up in a tragedy after a 13-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling fan on Monday night in Chandigarh. The deceased has been identified as Sakshi, a resident of Malloya locality in the city.
According to Malloya police, Sakshi, a class VI student, had a minor quarrel with her 10-year-old brother following which she locked herself up in a room and hanged herself to the ceiling fan with her dupatta. On seeing her hanging, the family members brought her down and rushed her to the hospital, but she was declared brought dead by the doctors.
By the time the police were able to reach the spot, the family had taken Sakshi to the hospital. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot.
The police have kept the dead body in Sector-16 hospital mortuary and are investigating the matter.
