The Himachal Pradesh government has quarantined 15 persons in the state who had attended the Markaz Tablighi Jamat in Nizamuddin, Delhi. Two more persons from the Hill state are still in Delhi. The revelation has put the administration on alert.
According to the state government, 14 people from Chamba and 1 person from Kullu had attended the religious congregation. Two more natives of Sirmour district were present in Delhi during the event from March 13 to 15.
Notably, the state has witnessed three cases of coronavirus infection so far. Out of the three, one has recovered, one is still in the hospital, while the third one has passed away last week.
The state government has identified the persons and has put them under quarantine. No person has found to be symptomatic so far. All are under observation.
22 persons from neighboring Haryana and 9 from Punjab too had attended the event.
24 people who had attended the Markaz have tested positive for coronavirus infection and nine have died so far. An estimated 1500-1700 people had attended the religious congregation in Delhi. More than 2,000 delegates, including from Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan, attended the congregation of Tablighi Jamaat.
