In what is suspected to be the third death due to COVID-19, a 71-year-old man die in Maharashtra on Saturdayafternoon. The man was admitted to a hospital in Maharasthra’s Buldhana district. He was had high blood pressure and diabetes. The 71-year-old man had returned from Saudi Arabia recently.
The Maharashtrian’s death may be the third death due to the deadly coronavirus in India. Earlier on Friday a 68-year-old woman from Delhi died in Delhi. She was confirmed as the second Indian to die from the coronavirus.
India’s first fatality from the virus was confirmed on Thursday. The 76-year-old man from Karnataka died after returning from a month-long visit to Saudi Arabia on 29 February.
In the meanwhile, the number of confirmed coronavirus infection cases in India have risen to 84. At the same time, the Centre government has announced an ex-gratia to the relatives of anyone who dies of COVID-19.
The WHO has also declared it a pandemic after more than 118,000 confirmed cases and 4,291 deaths in 114 countries.
