A 52-year-old man from Mumbai died in Kedarnath on Tuesday as the helicopter operators allegedly refused to airlift him to the hospital.

According to the reports, the victim was referred by doctors to a hospital outside the temple town as his health had worsened. But the companies which provide the helicopter services in the region refused to fly him to the hospital despite police intervention.

However, it is still unclear why the helicopter operators refused. Also, a fight broke out between the police personnel and the operators over this issue which lead to halting of all the hospital services.

In between this chaos, the man reportedly died due to lack of oxygen as the operators refused to take him. Soon after, when the town administration intervened, the flight services restarted. According to the reports, no action has been taken against the operators.
