Mobile app to keep track of ‘lost property’ complaints at airports The Hush Post: In a big help to air travellers, a mobile app has been launched which will update you on the status of your ‘lost and found’ complaint and also a passenger can register a complaint online in case, he loses any baggage at the airport. It has been launched at 59 airports across India.

“The main advantage of this mobile version is that passenger can directly register complaints and get status of the complaint immediately. In this application, the user can also request for technical consultancy,” CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)Assistant Inspector General Hemendra Singh told a news agency.

“There was an app earlier too, but the complainant had to wait for airports to upload the items found at their respective airports on this web application,” Singh said. The app has been developed by the CISF in collaboration with UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) team of National e-Governance Division (NeGD).

‘Lost and found’ mobile app has three facilities:

  • Report ‘Lost and found’ items at airports
  • Tracking complaint/request status
  • Technical consultancy in security and fire services

Items worth Rs 50.05 crore and Rs 5.49 crore were restored to passengers with its assistance in 2017 and till date in 2018 respectively with the help of the earlier version of the mobile app.
