Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi suffered a cardiac arrest at home today. Jogi is on ventilator support, according to a statement released by the hospital.
He’s in critical condition, the Shree Narayana Hospital in Raipur said.
74-year-old Ajit Jogi leads the Janata Congress Chattisgarh (JCC). He founded this party after his sacking from the Congress in 2016.
He is the first of only three men to have led Chhattisgarh as chief minister, serving between 2000 and 2003.
His successor, Raman Singh of the BJP, held the post for 15 years before the incumbent, the Congress’s Bhupesh Baghel, took over in 2018.
At present he is the Marwahi MLA.
