The grenade attack case on Nirankari sabha in Rajasansi, Amrtisar has been solved. The announcement was made by Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday. One person was arrested in this regard. Capt Amarinder said that the Punjab Police have identified assailants behind the grenade attack.
“26-year-old Bikramjit Singh has been arrested and the search for another accused, Avtar Singh, is on,” Amarinder told the media at a press conference.
The Chief Minister also displayed pictures of the two accused and assured that the second person would be arrested soon.
Underlining that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is quite active in brewing trouble in Punjab, Singh said the grenade used in Amritsar attack is the one being used against forces in Kashmir. “This one is made under license by Pakistan licensed factory and is filled with pellets,” said Singh.
The HE-36 Series grenade used by Pakistan was the one used in the blast at the Nirankari sabha.
Three people, including a preacher, were killed and more than 20 others were wounded when two-bike borne men lobbed a grenade on a religious congregation on Sunday. The incident took place inside the Nirankari Bhawan’s prayer hall at Rajasansi, Amrtisar.
