In a weird hope to get his 26-year-old son back to life, a father in Andhra Pradesh stood guard over his son’s grave for 38 days. 56-year-old Thuppakula Ramu of Nellore district had lost his son in December last year. Believing a tantric, Ramu lived there at Christian graveyard in Petluru village.
When the local police found about this bizarre incident, they went to the graveyard and counseled Ramu to come back home. After that Ramu returned home but he continued to believe that this was the only way his son would have come back to life.
According to the police, Ramu’s son T Shrinivasulu had died of Swine flu and was the only bread-earner of the family. T Srinivasulu was working in Kuwait for a private company since 2014 and returned home three months back. He had bought himself an auto to earn livelihood for the family. But he fell ill and during treatment at a government hospital in Tirupati he died of Swine flu.
Saddened with son’s demise, Thuppakula Ramu met a tantric who told him that if he wanted his son back, he would have to guard his son’s grave for 41 days. The police also doubt that the tantric had conned Ramu of Rs 7 lakh. But Ramu refused to register any complaint against tantric. He said that it was his decision to believe the tantric and he had not committed any crime.
