The Hush Post: A retired judge and his wife committed suicide on the railway track at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. They allegedly committed suicide in quick succession, one after the other, according to the police.
The judge committed suicide by lying down on a railway track seconds before the train ran over him. It was the Howrah-bound express train which hurtled over him on Friday morning.
Bodies of former judge Pamuluru Sudhakar (62) and his wife Varalakshmi (56) were recovered from tracks near an engineering college, 10 km from Tirupati. Both seemed to have died within a few hours of each other.
Sudhakar, who retired as Additional District & Sessions Judge, was the first to commit suicide. The distraught wife resorted to the extreme step in the evening at the same place. The second incident came to light when her brother went to the hospital to collect his brother-in-law’s husband’s body. At that time Rayalaseema Express was passing on the track. His children work as software professionals in Bengaluru.
In his suicide note, he said he was ending his life due to the trauma of the kidney ailment. He had been suffering from the kidney ailment for a long time.
The couple were living in an apartment at Tiruchanuru alone after Sudhakar’s retirement.
