Representing Muslim parties in the Ramjanmbhoomi-Babri masjid land dispute case, senior advocate Rajeev Dhavan tore up a pictorial map that showed the exact birthplace of Lord Rama during the Supreme Court hearings today.
Senior advocate Vikas Singh, representing the Hindu Mahasabha, presented the map in the court which was objected to by Dhavan. He (Dhavan) asked the bench as to what he should do with the map. To this, the bench reportedly said that he can shred it into pieces. After that, Dhavan tore the pictorial map presented by All India Hindu Mahasabha in the courtroom.
In the hearings today, Vikas Singh referred to various aspects of Allahabad High Court’s judgements. He also reportedly said that there has been faith and belief on the part of Hindus with regard to the sacred nature of the birthplace of Lord Ram.
On the other hand, Dhavan also reportedly objected to Singh’s reference to a book written by former IPS officer Kishore Kunal on Ayodhya, saying such attempts should be disallowed.
