The doc who won’t listen: Fractured left hand, plastered right hand, the real face of Bihar health care

An orthopedic doctor from Darbhanga Medical College Hospital plastered the wrong hand of a boy who fell from a mango tree.

The seven-year-old victim Faijan said, “My left hand was fractured but they plastered my right hand. I tried telling them while they were giving the treatment but they did not listen to me.”

His mother expressed her anger over such negligence and said, “We were not even provided with a single tablet by a hospital. An investigation should be carried out.”

This matter has reached the state health department. The minister Mangal Pandey has asked the superintendent to brief him about the case.

The superintendent, Dr. Raj Ranjan Prasad said, “Health Minister has asked me to investigate the matter and seek clarification from the concerned team regarding the negligence. I condemn this incident and ii am trying to fix the issue. People involved in the incident will be punished.”
