Lightning kills 8, including 3 children in Bihar’s Nawada district

In an unfortunate incident, 8 persons were killed after lightning struck them in Bihar’s Nawada district. The deceased include three children. The incident has been reported from Dhanpur village of the Kashichak police station area.

As per preliminary reports, many villagers were playing in the fields in the afternoon. The weather changed and it started pouring heavily. The people then took refuge under a tree. Suddenly a lightning bolt hit the tree. 8 persons, including 3 children, were killed on the spot. Some others received burn injuries.

The injured were rushed to Kashichak hospital where the condition of some is said to be serious. The deceased were in the age group of 9 years to 26 years.

Earlier on July 15, a high tension wire fell on the roof of a primary school in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh injuring 52 students. Four of the students received serious burn injuries in the incident.
