Bihar Police arrest six of the accused for molesting the victim girl on video; remaining two molesters in the clip are absconding

The Hush Post: The Bihar Police have arrested six youths for allegedly molesting a girl and tearing her clothes in a video that has gone viral. The incident reportedly occurred in Jehanabad district of Bihar.

This video has gone viral on WhatsApp and other social networking media in which a group is seen molesting a young girl and tearing her clothes. Acting promptly after coming to know about the video, the police arrested six of the accused youths shown in the video, NDTV reported on Monday.

The disturbing video has apparently posted on social media by some eyewitness who could not do anything to help the victim. A senior police officer received this clip reportedly on his mobile phone on Sunday. While six of the accused were immediately arrested, two more molesters in the video have not been traced yet, the report said.

The police have constituted a special team to probe the video clip, which has outraged several watchers since it went viral, report said.

In this video clip, the victim girl is seen helplessly fighting the molesters, who are laughing while ripping off her clothes. One molester is seen lifting her as the girl tries to free herself by kicking him. No one came to the rescue of the victim girl and an eyewitness captured the act on his mobile with his intention not clear whether he captured the scene for fun or to identify the molesters later, the report said.

The police said almost all the molesters are teenagers. The police said a bike, belonging to one of the molesters, is a vital clue for the police. The police have also seized the mobile phone used for capturing the scene, the report said.

An FIR has been registered against the alleged molesters under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
