Since last four years the result was 100% – students who qualified for JEE
The Hush Post: Twenty-six out of 30 students from Bihar’s ‘Super 30’ academy has cracked IIT JEE (Advanced) this year, results were declared on Sunday, it was reported.
The institute trains 30 meritorious students from underprivileged sections of the society for JEE exams annually to enter IIT. Since the inception of the institute in 2002, the students are also provided free food and accommodation by Anand Kumar, the founder of Super-30.
“It is immensely satisfying to see students from the remotest corners, where winds of development have not reached yet and life continues to be a struggle, competing with the best and the privileged lot,” Kumar was quoted in news.
Among those who have cracked the JEE exam this year, from the institute, are Onirjit Goswami, Suraj Kumar, Yash Kumar and Suryakant Das – they all belong to an extremely humble background, it was reported.
A total of 422 students out of 480 have qualified in IIT-JEE since Super-30 coaching institute was started. For the last four years, all 30 students qualified from the institute.
Most of the students of the Super 30 institute are first-generation learners, and Kumar also entered the Limca Book of World Records in 2009 for his contributions, it was reported. He plans to take his initiative to students across the country.
The success of Super 30 and its inspiring track record has earned the mathematician accolades not just at home, but also on foreign lands. Newsweek Magazine had included his institute in the list of four most innovative schools in the world. A movie on Super 30, starring Hrithik Roshan in the role of Anand Kumar, is expected to hit the theatres early next year.
