Lalu gets provisional bail, to be out of jail for a-month-and-a-half

The HushPost: Lalu Prasad gets to stay out of the jail for the next about one-and-a-half month owing to his medical condition.

The Jharkhand High Court has granted six weeks provisional bail to former Railway Minister and Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The bail has been granted on medical grounds, as per Lalu’s counsel Prabhat Kumar. The provisional bail was granted by Justice Apresh Kumar Singh.

Currently, Lalu Prasad is on a five-day parole to attend his son Tej Pratap’s wedding to Aishwarya Rai on May 12. He left the Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi for Patna on Thursday.

Lalu is serving a jail sentence after conviction in three different fodder scam cases. He is admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi since March 18.

Recently Lalu was referred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi for further treatment. He returned to RIMS on May 1 after a team of AIIMS doctors declared him fit to be brought to RIMS.
