15 injured in a blast at Indian restaurant in Mississauga; police release photos of 2 suspects

The Hush Post: An Indian restaurant was bombed by two persons outside Toronto on Thursday night injuring as many as 15 people. Three people have “critical blast injuries.”

Most of those who were injured had come to dine, the police said.

The blast took place around 10:30 pm. at the Bombay Bhel restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario, west of Toronto. The Peel Regional Police said the two culprits set off a self-made explosive device in the restaurant before making a vanishing act from the scene.

The police released a photo of the suspects, describing them as two men, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. They pulled up the hood to cover their faces.

Mississauga, on Lake Ontario, is a city of more than a population of seven lakh and has a large immigrant population.

Peel Paramedics, a local ambulance service, said it was “on scene with multiple patients at an explosion in Mississauga.”
