Woman driving home stalked in Chandigarh, culprits flee after two other commuters stop for help

The Hush Post: In a repeat of the Varnika Kundu case, a woman was stalked for about 5 km when the Kharar -based woman was returning home from Sector 22 in Chandigarh. The woman is a manager in a private company and had gone to meet her friends in a Sector 22 eatery.

While she was driving back, two men in motorcycle and three men in Hyundai i20 car started following her near Sector 52, Chandigarh. They followed her car, sometimes bringing the vehicle in front of her car and at other times following her vehicle, a news report in The Times of India said. They made obscene gestures at her and also hit her car from behind.

After a while, they stopped her car and the accused started banging the windowpanes of the car. Meanwhile, two persons in another car stopped their car to find out what had gone wrong apprehending it to be an accident. When they intervened, the accused fled away. The good samaritans called up the police. The victim has provided the registration number of the car used by the culprits to the police. The woman gave a written complaint to the police who lodged a DDR (Daily Diary Report).
