The Hush Post: Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Das Tandon has passed away. He complained of chest pain during breakfast and was immediately admitted to the Raipur’s Ambedkar Hospital. He breathed his last at 2:15 pm in the afternoon. He was 90. His body will be shortly flown to Chandigarh where he lived in Sector 18.
He is survived by his two daughters, Alka Kawatra & Poonam Batra who live in New Delhi and son Sanjay Tandon.
Raj Bhavan sources said that Tandon was ailing since past several days. His condition deteriorated this morning.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed sources said that the Governor suffered a heart attack and was put on life support system. His condition remained critical throughout and could not be revived.
He was appointed as the Governor of Chattisgarh in 2014. Earlier, he was the BJP president of Chandigarh. But even before that he was the deputy chief minister of Jan Sangh-Akali government way back in 1970. He also served as cabinet minister in 1977-79 and later in 1997-2002 in the ministries headed by Parkash Singh Badal. Tandon was a founding member of the Jan Sangh in 1951, and served as secretary of Punjab Jan Sangh from 1951 to 1957.
