A Class IX schoolboy, a resident of Mani Majra, Chandigarh was brutally stabbed to death. The incident took place near his house on Monday afternoon.

The victim was immediately taken to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The victim was a student of a government school.

As per the police, information about the stabbing incident was received around 3.30 pm. Immediately, the police team reached the spot.

The victim who has been identified as Rajesh, a resident of New Indira Colony, Mani Majra, was allegedly stabbed by Shivam, aka Lefty, who made a vanishing act after the incident.

The victim was stabbed on the chest and stomach. A PCR team lifted the victim and took him to the hospital, where he later died.

The police said the victim had a fight with the suspect at a wedding on October 13. This subsequent incident was a result of that fight.

“The suspect was waiting for the victim near his house and as soon as he left home, Shivam attacked him,” said a police official.

The police have registered a case of murder against the suspect at the IT park police station. The victim is survived by his parents and two sisters.
