The Hush Post: Thinking of owning your own dream home in the tricity? Here’s some good news for you. Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has decided to come up with around 900 new plots soon. Out of these, 650 will be carved out in the IT City and the remaining 250 will come up in Eco City-2. GMADA is planning to invite online applications for the plots. The plots will be of various sizes, measuring 100, 120 and 200 square yards. Notification in this regard will be released soon. It has come to light that GMADA will announce this scheme only after the draw for the plots for famers is held. On the other hand, GMADA has started civil and electrical works in IT City and Eco City. According to department officials, the scheme has been conceived keeping in mind the ever increasing number of youths in the tricity who are coming here from other states in search of jobs and business.
Experts say that the locations where GMADA has proposed to come up with plots are ‘prime locations’. While the Eco-City is just a 10-minutes’ drive from Chandigarh, the IT City is situated next to the international airport and Mohali city. Also, the Court Complex and DC Complex are at a walking distance.
It is to be noted that after the construction of Mohali International Airport, demand for land has gone up and the land prices have skyrocketed. Also, Mohali has emerged as a favourite destination for the youth working in Chandigarh and Panchkula.
