The Hush Post: In a big development, it has now emerged that Inderpreet Chadha the son of former Chief Khalsa Dewan Charanjeet Singh Chadha may not have committed suicide.
The forensic report presented with the supplementary challan suggests that the bullet which killed him wasn’t fired from his weapon as per a news report which appeared on News 18. The bullet which killed him was fired from someone else’s pistol. This could change the whole course of the investigation.
Earlier, in the first challan, it was mentioned that Inderpreet Chadha had committed suicide and police had also gone on with the theory that Chadha had actually ended his own life. Pertinently, it had also earlier come to light that several police officers’ names had come to the fore following his suicide.
After the death, which was then termed suicide, in a letter addressed to Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, Inderpreet Chadha, had allegedly elaborated the reasons for his taking the extreme step and has sought justice for his father. Now with the latest twist, the alleged suicide note itself comes under scanner.
An FIR was registered against 11 persons including the woman principal seen in the MMS who accused Charanjeet Singh (83) of sexual harassment, Chief Khalsa Diwan’s former honorary secretary Bhag Singh Ankhi, two members and senior director of WWIC, Davinder Sandhu, two members of CKD charitable society, Hari Singh Sandhu and Nirmal Singh, besides advocate Inderpreet Singh Anand, Surjit Singh, Ummat, Kuljeet Kaur, Manya, and Gursewak Singh.
Charanjeet Singh was expelled from the primary membership of the society following a controversial video. The accused were booked following a complaint by Inderpreet’s son, Prabhpreet Singh, from Green Aveneue, Amritsar.
Earlier it was believed that Inderpreet shot himself. The police had booked the accused under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) and 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy).
Inderpreet’s father and former CKD chief, Charanjit, was booked for sexually harassing a woman principal. Later, Inderpreet was charged with criminal intimidation along with his father. Inderpreet was reportedly upset over the controversy that erupted after a video showing his father in an objectionable position with a woman went viral on the social media.
