After Kasauli firing, bailiff who had come to vacate hotel premises held hostage in Chandigarh

Bailiff Rajiv Kumar, had gone to vacate a restaurant named AB’s, situated in Sector-26, on the orders of a local court on Wednesday

The Hush Post: Close on the heels of Kasauli firing, an incident has been reported from Chandigarh where a bailiff, who had gone to vacate a restaurant, was held hostage.  The incident sent the local police into a tizzy and it immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the bailiff.

According to the police, Bailiff Rajiv Kumar, had gone to vacate a restaurant named AB’s, situated in Sector-26, on the orders of a local court on Wednesday. However, he was allegedly held hostage by the manager and the other staff of the restaurant.  It is reported that the accused shut down the main shutter from the inside and fled from back door. Rajiv Kumar managed to call the police with his mobile phone and was rescued from the restaurant.

The Sector-26 police have registered a case against restaurant manager Jatinder, though he hasn’t been arrested yet.

The SCO, where the restaurant is situated, is owned by Vijay Kumar Pahwa and its ground floor was rented out to Hot Millions’ owner Mohanbir.  Alleging that Mohanbir had failed to pay the rent for the past three years despite court orders, Pahwa had again moved the court which ordered that the property be vacated.
