Haryana cadre IAS officer Mandeep Singh Brar has been appointed Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh AdmInistration, Chandigarh. He will be posted for a period of three years. This orders to this effect came on Tuesday evening.

Earlier, he was the Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Haryana. He replaces Ajit Balaji Joshi IAS, whose inter cadre deputation expires on October 29 2018.

Brar is a 2005 batch IAS officer. Earlier, he has served in various capacities, including Chief Administrator of the Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board, Managing Director, Haryana Warehousing Corporation, and as the Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar and Ambala.

In July, the Haryana Government had sent the panel, which had the names of Ravi Prakash Gupta (2007 batch) and Raj Narayan Kaushik (2010 batch), besides that of Brar to succeed Ajit Balaji Joshi as the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh.
