Chandigarh: #MeToo seems to have hit Punjab Cabinet also. A Punjab Cabinet minister allegedly sent an “inappropriate text” to a female government official. The minister may face an action, a report said.

The Indian Express reported that the woman official has complained to her senior official in the government. The report said that later the matter reached Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. The CM got the minister to apologize to the official.

The report, however, did not mention the name of the minister. But another report said that the minister in question represents a reserved constituency. He was in the news for a couple of controversies during his tenure as minister.

The Indian Express report also quoted sources saying that Congress president Rahul Gandhi is aware of the complaint. It further said that the party is deliberating on whether the minister should continue in the Cabinet.
