The Hush Post: Congress leader and cabinet minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has asked the former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal, to clarify that if he didn’t order firing at Behbal kalan and Kotkapura then did the orders come from the then Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal or the former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini?
This he said while reacting to the statement of ex-CM Badal in which the latter denied that he had any role in ordering firing on the innocent Sikhs protesting in the aftermath of the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
The Congress leader demanded that the trio of Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Sumedh Singh Saini must be taken into custody to know the truth about who ordered firing.
Expressing astonishment, S Randhawa said that the then Chief Minister had a word with the Faridkot administration and the DGP on phone and he still didn’t know who ordered firing but the police still fires bullets at the innocent Sikhs. He also said that Badal should first ask his son, who was the Home Minister at that time, that whether or not the firing took place at his orders.
Randhawa also sought an explanation from the Shiromani Akali Dal over a statement of Sukhbir Singh Badal in the media in which he has said that the decision of staging a walkout from the Vidhan Sabha during the discussion on Justice Ranjit Singh commission report was taken in a meeting of the core committee of the Shiromani Akali Dal under the leadership of Parkash Singh Badal. They said that the Akalis were given less time to speak and that was that the reason for the walk-out. Or was it that Akalis didn’t have the argument to justify their stand vis-a-vis Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report.
Randhawa also said that now the senior Badal is presenting his version with false statements but the people of Punjab will not be fooled by these false statements.
