In a latest political development, Haryanvi folk dancer Sapna Chaudhary is likely to enter electoral politics. She is being tipped to be Congress candidate either from one of the parliamentary constituencies from Haryana, else she could take on Hema Malini from Mathura. Both the options are being explored.
Also, according to sources, from Chandigarh, it could be the old warhorse Pawan Kumar Bansal and not Navjot Kaur. Navjot is being tipped to fight local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu — Amritsar — the constituency from where her husband used to fight elections.
However, former Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has reportedly said that he still is in contention from Chandigarh, who is also being considered from Anandpur Sahib. Manish Tewari last fought elections from Ludhiana in 2009 and won it. The current MP from Chandigarh is Kirron Kher of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
