The Hush Post: You may find umpteen clinics and hospitals for humans as well as pets. But ever heard of a clinic for plants? Well, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has a dedicated clinic for plants which has been providing its services to farmers since 1992. The facility boasts of modern technology and offers treatment for every type of ailments that plants suffer from.

Be it a pest infestation or malnutrition due to deficiency of soil, water, chemical or nutrient elements, the hospital offers treatment for all maladies, and that too free of cost.

The hospital is situated inside the Kisan Sewa Kendra at PAU and a team of four specialist scientists is providing free service to farmers. These include plant pathologist Dr Surinder Kumar, pest prevention specialist Dr Subhash Singh, crop scientist Dr Raghuvir Singh and soil specialist Dr SP Saini.

According to plant pathologist Dr Thind, be it a farmer or a plant enthusiast, whosoever is involved in growing plants or crops, can visit the hospital for free treatment. The hospital remains open on all working days from 9 am in the morning to 5pm in the evening.

Meanwhile, plant pathology scientist Dr SK Shinde said that those who cannot bring along their plants to the hospital, they can e-mail, whatsapp or use the helpline number to get a solution to plant ailments.
