The Hush Post: Strong winds, thunderstorm and light rain greeted people on Wednesday morning in the hill state. Owing to the Western Disturbance, the Meteorological Department had already forecast bad weather till March 22. The sky turned grey and dark in the morning at some places. Shimla is witnessing slight drizzle since morning; different hues of the weather including sun, clouds, rain, winds could be witnessed in different areas of the state capital.
The plain areas of Himachal too have been experiencing light drizzle accompanied by strong winds. It has been raining in Manali and the adjoining areas too since morning. Light snow is expected in higher reaches of Chamba and Kinnaur. Punjab also has been witnessing an overcast sky at most places with Ferozepur receiving heavy rain since last night.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, New Delhi, the Western Disturbance over Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir is likely to cause scattered to fairly widespread rain or snow over Western Himalayan region during next 24 hours. Thunderstorms and hailstorms are likely at places in Himachal and Uttarakhand.
