One Chandigarh carjacking case solved with 3 arrests, more cases to be solved soon

The Mohali police have arrested three miscreants out of a gang of five who stole a Swift car which was forcibly snatched from a youth, Amandeep Singh (26), at gunpoint on the Mullanpur-Baddi road on November 27.

Though the police remained silent on the matter, reports said the three miscreants were already in the police net.

A senior official of the Mohali police confirmed the development on condition of privacy. He said the details would be shared soon.

Five carjackers, who came in a silver Swift car, had taken away a white Swift car from Amandeep Singh. He runs a salon at Sector 40, Chandigarh. The car was robbed at gunpoint around 8.25 pm. After identifying the silver Swift car from CCTV footage, the police had rounded up the car owner, a resident of Bantpur village in the Mullanpur area. The car owner told the police that his brother-in-law had taken the car from him for some work. Later, the police had identified three of the five miscreants and had also recovered the car.
