A soldier with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) killed five of his colleagues in Chhatisgarh today after he allegedly opened fire at his colleagues. Another two personnel are injured. The police personnel who opened fire shot himself.

The incident happened at about 8:55 am at an ITBP camp in Narayanpur district. Narayanpur is about 350 km from Raipur.

According to early reports, an ITBP soldier allegedly fired at his colleagues with his service weapon, killing five of them and injuring two others.

The reason for the dispute is still not clear.

The reason for the firing is that the accused police personnel did not get leave. The authorities ordered an inquiry.

The injured are at a nearby hospital. A senior police officer rushed to the spot where the firing took place.
