India entered day four of the 21-day lockdown across the country enforced to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in India.
As of today, the total number of confirmed cases of the infection in India stands at 874, including 67 patients who were treated or discharged after testing positive and 19 who have reportedly succumbed to it.
Across the globe, Covid-19 has claimed about 26,500 lives, and infected over 586,000 people.
The epicentre of the disease has shifted from China or Italy to the United States of America (USA). Italy alone has accounted for one-third of the total cases but the reports coming from US are also of a lot of concern.
A vaccine is still at least 12 to 18 months away, the WHO has said urging the countries to unite against the deadly pandemic. The global economy has plunged into a downturn which will require massive funding to help developing nations, IMF Chief Kristalina Georgieva said on Friday.
