In an undated video that has gone viral, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman is seen posing with colleagues and other servicemen.
Wing Commander Abhinandan is the one who had spent two days in Pakistani custody when his MiG-21 was shot down in a dogfight with Pakistan Air Force jets a day after the February 26 Balakot strike.
Probably, Wing Commander Varthaman was visiting his former colleagues in Jammu and Kashmir recently.
In a short address after the selfies, Wing Commander Varthaman said that these pictures were for the families of his colleagues ” who had prayed for his well-being”.
“All these photographs are not for you but for your families I could not meet. All of you and your families prayed for my health and I want to thank them all,” he said.
” Besgt of luck to all and thank you for your prayers,” he is heard saying in his address.
He then joined the group in chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and cheers for the Indian Air Force, its 1 Wing and the Defence Security Corps.
