Ashish Pandey, a former BSP MP’s son who brandished a pistol at a five-star south Delhi hotel, has reached Patiala House courts to surrender, news agency ANI reported.
Aashish Pandey had gone missing after the shooting incident last weekend outside Delhi’s Hyatt Regency hotel. In a video message released before his surrender, he has tried to clear his stand on the incident.
A look-out circular had been issued which had alerted the police at borders, airports and railway stations.
In the 90-second clip video that went viral last week, Pandey is seen pulling out a gun and threatening a woman at the entrance the hotel after an argument.
The woman had objected to him walking into the women’s washroom. Pandey’s woman friend and a security guard are seen trying to hold him back and calm him down. However, in his video message released before surrender, he said that why he was walking into the washroom should be found out through CCTV footage.
Pandey had to be dragged away by the hotel staff as he had shouted out expletives and threats. The victim had told a news channel that she and the hotel staff were scared. “A man with a gun hurled abuses at us and walked up threateningly. I was intimidated and scared. The hotel staff tried to intervene but could not as they were also scared,” the woman had said.
