Aam Aadmi Party MP from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann is often seen invoking laughter during his speeches in the parliament with a touch of comic timing in his speeches. Something hilarious happened yesterday when he started speaking in the Parliament. Other MPs from the BJP started accosting him and tried hard to smell if he was drunk.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Sharma, the Kaiserganj MP was the first to walk to Mann and smell if he was drunk.
However, Mann was unfazed and went uninterrupted about his speech. Then others also came one after the other.
He praised the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi and said that Delhi’s government schools were at par with the private schools, health facilities were at its best. He said: “We will win Delhi again but please ask the BJP members to keep silent.”
Earlier as well, there have been allegations of Mann being drunk in the Parliament. Former MP Harminder Singh Khalsa had written once to the then Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, requesting her that his seat in the Lok Sabha be changed as Mann, who sits next to him, stinks of alcohol. Both Mann and Khalsa were elected on AAP tickets but the latter was suspended from the party.
Last year, Bhagwant Mann swore that he will not touch liquor and that he had quit drinking. He had said that he made a promise to his mother that he will never touch liquor again.
