The Hush Post: A Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry has been order by the government into the alleged ‘Staff Selection Commission’ (SSC) exam. However, agitating candidates throughout the country say they will continue their protest.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor requested the candidates to call-off their agitation. “We have accepted demands of protesting students and have ordered for CBI inquiry,” said Union Home Minister Singh.

Responding to Minister Singh, a candidate said: “We welcome Union home minister Rajnath Singh’s decision on CBI probe in the alleged SSC exams scam,” an agitating candidate said, adding: “We will not call off the agitation unless and until a proper procedure of the format is released.”
Even Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said he had spoken to Union Minister Jitendra Singh about the CBI investigation. He said the minister had agreed.

“It is time to acknowledge victory and move on…protesters should know when they have won,” Tharoor tweeted.

The test was cancelled on February 17 after allegations of malpractices surfaced at an exam centre in Delhi where chits with answers written on it were found in a bathroom. In Bhopal too, the same exam had to be cancelled owing to similar allegations.

Many parties in the opposition, including Congress, AAP, and BJP are seeking investigations. The irregularities in the exams have been compared to irregularities in Vyapam scam which took place in Madhya Pradesh in 2013.
