The Hush Post: Class X and Class XII Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations will begin earlier than usual coming year. As per media reports, CBSE will conduct board examinations in the latter half of February 19.

According to NDTV.com first the board examinations for vocational subjects will be conducted in February. Subsequently, the exams for core subjects will be held in March 2018.

The Date Sheet for the examinations is yet to be announced. Media reports suggest that the Board will issue the date sheet soon on its official website by next week.

As of now the board examinations conclude by the end of April. Come next year, the exams will wind up early hence providing extra time to the students to prepare for competitive exams.

Consequently, the results might be announced earlier and so will be the re-evaluations.  This will further help students not to miss on University admission deadlines. The re-evaluation part was a major hindrance in University admissions as students had to seek entry to top universities on the basis of the pre re-evaluation scores. A delay in re-evaluation results meant that they even had to miss the admission deadlines.

The decision follows the recommendations of a committee formed in April 2018 to suggest ways to improve CBSE examinations process.  Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court had in July 2018 asked the Delhi University and CBSE to co-ordinate result and undergraduate cut off dates.
