When she opposed, he slapped her and dragged her into his room
The Hush Post: An Army Major residing in Delhi cantonment has been booked for allegedly raping his domestic help. The Delhi Police filed an FIR on Sunday against the Major.
The Indian Express has reported the woman has alleged the officer raped her repeatedly and beat up her and her husband.
The woman’s husband committed suicide at the servant’s quarters of the officer’s home on July 12. She went to live with her in-laws’ after the alleged assaults but her husband stayed back. She alleged the officer called her later in July to say that her husband had hanged himself. She approached police and then a Delhi court, the Express report said. The woman has accused him of killing her husband. The woman has a two-year-old son.
She told the police that Major Gaurav had sent her husband to run an errand on the fateful night. When he left, the Major instructed her to go inside his room but she opposed. He slapped her and dragged her into the room, the woman said in her statement.
When the husband came back, he saw the Major assaulting his wife and the two had a quarrel as per the FIR. Major Gaurav allegedly threatened him and later killed him, the woman alleged in the FIR. The officer told the police that the man had committed suicide, she said further.
“As I am poor and my husband is no more, there is no one to help me,” she said in the FIR. Her belongings are still lying at the servant’s quarter in Delhi Cantonment, she told the police.
The woman had been living in the servant’s quarter for the last three months. While she cooked and cleaned for him, her husband used to water plants and do other odd jobs.
