Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak has got into legal tangle. Laxmi Agarwal’s lawyer Aparna Bhat filed a petition asking for a stay on the film’s release. The reason for the stay was that the makers did not give her credit. Now, Delhi High Court has restrained the film’s release.

Earlier, Delhi’s Patiala Court gave a clean chit to the makers to release the film and ordered them to give credit to Aparna. It is Delhi High Court now that has restrained film’s release.
Delhi High Court has restrained the film’s release post-January 15 if the makers fail to give credit to Aparna Bhat.
The production house Fox Studio had challenged Patiala Court’s order in High Court and now the verdict is out.
ANI tweeted, “Delhi High Court restrains from releasing of film ‘Chhapaak’ without giving credit to lawyer Aparna Bhat, who represented survivor Lakshmi in her legal battle. The restraint will be effective from January 15 for multiplexes and live streaming and for others from January 17.”
