In a fit of rage a woman bit off the finger of a sweeper for walking past her house in the national capital.
The bizarre incident was reported from Mandir Marg area. The Mandir Marg police registered a case on Wednesday against the accused, who has been identified as Sarita. She has been booked under IPC Section 326 (volutarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means).
In her complaint, Usha told the police that Sarita stopped her while she was walking past her house to reach the adjacent lane, after sweeping the street clean in one block. The accused reportedly asked her to take another lane. This led to a quarrel between the two.
The argument soon matured into a scuffle and Sarita reportedly grabbed Usha’s wrist and bit her ring finger. She didn’t stop till she had chewed it and bit it off, the victim was quoted as saying as per a report.
Usha is currently undergoing a treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the matter. The CCTV footage from the area is being scanned and accused woman is also being interrogated by the police.
