Delhi teen shot dead by friend while making video on Tik Tok

A 19-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by his friend as they posed with a pistol to make a video on mobile app, Tik Tok. The incident took place on Sunday at the Ranjit Singh Flyover near Connaught Place, Delhi.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Madhur Verma (New Delhi), Salman along with his friends Amir and Sohail went out for a drive to India Gate. While returning, Salman was driving the car, Sohail seated next to him pulled out a countrymade pistol to record a video for the Tik Tok app. As they passed by Lalit Hotel around 10.30 pm, an uneven part of the flyover caused the car to lurch, leading to the shot being fired”.

Amir was sitting at the back seat of the white Hyundai Creta owned by Salman’s cousin, the police said.

After the incident, the two friends reached Sohail’s relatives’ place in Daryaganj, where he changed his blood-stained clothes. Then along with the relative, they took Salman to LNJP Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

A case of murder and a case under Arms Act have been registered. According to the police, Salman was arrested as he fired the bullet. While Amir was arrested for disposing the weapon his relative, Sharif, who was not present when the incident happened was also arrested for disposing-off the blood-stained clothes.

Salman’s body has been kept at the hospital. Police said they are investigating whether the bullet was fired accidentally or with an intent to kill.

Salman was an under-graduate student. He was the youngest member of his family and has an elder brother and a sister. He lives in New Jafrabad area. His father has a business of jackets and jeans.
