A tutor from Delhi’s Mehrauli area was arrested on Saturday for killing three of his children along with his wife.
The police identified the accused as Upendra Shukla. A police officer informed that he used a kitchen knife to stab his wife. Also, he killed his seven-year-old daughter, a five-year-old son and two-month-old daughter. Further, the officer informed that the accused left a note accepting his crime.
The incident came to light when the Upendra’s mother-in-law knocked on the door of his room but did not get any response. After that, she asked neighbors to help her. After all unsuccessful efforts, the people gathered at the accused house called the police. Four of the deceased were found lying dead with Upendra sitting inside the room.
Vijay Kumar, DCP South Delhi said, “Police has recovered a handwritten note where he has written that he killed all of them but no reason has been mentioned.”
“But what we gather is that his wife had diabetes and he was financially not stable. Whether this or some sort of depression or family dispute led to the crime will be known after interrogation.”
The police have arrested the accused. Also, the weapon of offence has been collected by a team of police. The motive behind the act would be clear after only after the interrogation of the accused, police said. It is learnt, that the accused is suffering from depression.
