The Hush Post: Differences between a married couple reached such a stage that a 28-year-old man hung himself from the ceiling fan in his house at Pataudi in Gurgaon and posted the live video of his final moments on Facebook. Chauhan further asked his friends on the social site to share his suicide video.
The man was identified as Amit Chauhan, a resident of Haily Mandi near Pataudi, 28 km from Gurugram. The couple has two daughters. Family members cremated the body on Tuesday without informing the police. No arrests have been made so far. Amit was unemployed and his parents were staying with his elder brother in the National Security Guards campus in Manesar.
“The deceased posted two videos… He was also in depression and was being treated at PGIMS Rohtak for the last few months,” police officer Subhash Boken told a national daily. He posted two videos in a span of 15 minutes around 7 pm on Monday live streaming his suicide. In the first video, he said that he was soon going to commit suicide, the video ended abruptly. In the second video, he could be seen tying the rope around his neck and hanging himself from the ceiling fan.
Both the videos have been viewed around 5,000 times and shared over 50 times.
Police said Chauhan and his wife Preeti had differences over some family issue. “Preeti left her in-laws home on Monday after a tiff with her husband and called her parents, who took her to their house in a village near Sohna,” Boken said. “Anguished, Chauhan hanged himself and posted a video of the suicide on Facebook,” Boken said.
No one was at home when Amit took the extreme step. His parents have been staying with his elder brother in the National Security Guards campus in Manesar.
