The couple, identified as GK Nair, 75, a retired Air Force personnel, and his wife Gomti, 62, a retired nurse, were found dead by their neighbours at their Narmada Green Valley residence falling under Awadhpuri police station, Bhopal Deputy Inspector General Dharmendra Choudhry told PTI. The Nairs  belonged to Palakkad in Kerala and are survived by three daughters, all of whom are married.

The maid at the household alerted neighbours after no response came from inside the house, despite repeated knocks on the door.”Neighbours who peeped in from a window saw the couple lying in a pool of blood. Their throats had been slit with a sharp object,” the police said.
Since the house had not been ransacked, the police say it could be a case of personal enmity.A reward of Rs 20,000 has been announced for information on the case.
