The Hush Post: Vice chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Marshal SB Deo accidentally shot himself in his thigh on Wednesday evening. He was rushed to military hospital in Delhi where a surgery was conducted.

His condition is learnt to be stable.

A tweet read “Airforce Vice Chief & #Pathankotoperation hero Air Marshal SB Deo suffered an accidental minor bullet bruise injury while he was keeping his pistol aside after retiring from office. discharged from hospital soon.@IAFMCC”

The vice chief reportedly injured himself while he was keeping his pistol aside after returning from office. A Times of India report said that the pistol went off when he was cleaning it.

The Air Force, however, has not issued any statement in this regard.

Air Marshal Deo took charge as the vice chief of Air Staff in January 2017. He was commissioned as a fighter pilot in the IAF in 1979. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.
