The Hush Post: The Delhi Police have arrested a man on the charges of raping his niece for four years. The accused raped the victim on the pretext of treating her “Manglik dosh”, the police said.
The accused, who is the victim’s parental uncle, told her that if the “dosh” is not rectified her father would die. Under this pretext, the man kept raping the 23-year-old victim for the last four years, a report said.
The police said the man committed the rape regularly in the last four years.
The accused called the victim even after her marriage. Then she brought the matter in father-in-law’s notice of her, the report said.
Her father-in-law took the woman to Narela Police Station and lodged an FIR. “The accused is the paternal uncle of the victim who was arrested the same day,” a cop said.
The cops have contacted the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) for counselling to the rape victim.
In another incident, the police have apprehended a teenage boy for allegedly trying to rape a minor girl. The accused is 15-year-old boy and the victim is his neighbour who studies in Class 3.
CCP Aslam Khan said the incident occurred in Swaroop Nagar of North Delhi on Monday evening.
The police lodged a First Information Report (FIR) immediately. “Following that, the accused was apprehended,” the police officer said.
