The Hush Post: Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjit Singh GK was attacked today outside a gurudwara near California. He was thrashed and his face blackened by some people.
This is the second such attack on him. Three people have been arrested for the attack. Singh reacted to the attack immediately and said that he will not be bullied by such attacks. The Akali leader said that he was attacked by as many as 20 people. He added that these people did not even maintain the sanctity of the gurdwara.
Earlier, last week, he and his family members were beaten up in New York by a few Khalistan supporters.
Manjit Singh, who is also the president of Delhi unit of the Shiromani Akali Dal had then posted a video about the incident which took place after he was coming out of a TV studio.
In the video, those getting violent with Manjit were seen hurling expletives at him.
The allegations hurled against Manjit Singh GK were that he was allegedly involved in desecration incidents and Bargari deaths in Punjab, as per a report.
The protest was staged under the banner of Sikh Coordination Committee East Coast (USA) with which around 95 local gurdwara committees are associated.
The committee’s coordinator, Himmat Singh, said Sikhs living abroad held the SAD government responsible for the Bargari shootout and a series of blasphemy instances in Punjab. He said, “These instances were staged by misutilising the government machinery to gain political mileage and Justice Ranjit Singh commission’s report has testified it.”
