The Hush Post: Maruti Suzuki will hike the prices of all its model this month onwards. This is in order to offset the adverse effects of the commodity costs.
The details of the quantum of price increase, is being worked out depending on the model of the ccar. Higher the cost of vehicle more the increase in prices.
Senior Executive Director Sales and Marketing RS Kalsi said that they have been analysing the adverse impact of commodity prices on the vehicles. He said that the foreign exchange rates have been impacting the prices and this needs to be worked out sooner. He said that the company cannot absorb the impact any further and it will have to be transferred to the consumer.
Maruit sells a range of products beginning Maruti Alto 800 CC which sells at Rs 2.51 lakh and it goes upto the mid segment cars like Maruti Ciaz priced at Rs 11.51 lakh.
Other companies like Tata and Mahindra and Mahindra are also likely to jack up the prices August onwards.
