The Hush Post: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dust storm for national capital Delhi and its neighbouring states Uttarakhand, Haryana and Chandigarh on Saturday. The IMD has predicted that the neighbouring states will be affected by the thunderstorms on Saturday.

“Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and lightning are likely in the national capital today,” the IMD prediction on Saturday said.

The MeT Department’s warning came even as Delhi witnessed a clear sky on Saturday morning, a report said.

“The sky was mainly clear in the morning. However, there is the possibility of dust storms and thunderstorms towards the afternoon and evening,” an IMD forecast for the National Capital Region said.

According to the weathermen the neighbouring states Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh will also be affected by the thunderstorms, the report said.

Earlier on Friday, sudden dust storms with speed of 40 kmph had hit Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad, providing some relief from the hot weather. Some flights had to be diverted due to the dust storm, the report said quoting sources at the IGI Airport.

The IMD prediction said that the maximum temperature would likely to remain at about 42 degrees Celsius.
