The Hush Post: It was a narrow escape for many as the wing of a Jet Airways plane hit a parked truck at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi on Sunday night. Luckily there were no reports of injuries to anyone.
The Jet flight was arriving from Dubai when one of its wings hit a catering vehicle that had been parked at the airport as the aeroplane was taxiing to a parking bay, a report by The Times of India stated.
As per the report, the incident occurred at about 7.55 pm on Sunday when a Jet Airways flight 9W-545 carrying 133 passengers on-board landed at the IGI Airport. The plane, which had to be parked at Bay 20R was taxiing to its designated parking bay while a catering vehicle of Taj SATS – an air catering company was parked nearby on Bay number 20, the report said.
The plane’s right wing hit the parked catering vehicle just as it was about to head to the parking bay. Luckily there was no report of injury to anyone, the officials confirmed.
According to the airport officials a probe has been initiated into the incident and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is also likely to probe the incident, report said.
