Deceased Manisha Kohli and accused Girish Bhatnagar had reportedly got married about two years back through a matrimonial site
The Hush Post: A man from Noida allegedly killed his wife before ending his own life allegedly after coming to know about his wife’s first wedding. The deceased couple has been identified as wife Manisha Kohli (34) and her 47-year-old husband Girish Bhatnagar.
The incident occurred on Monday at a Greater Noida apartment. A report said that an altercation broke out between the couple before the tragic incident.
Both Manisha Kohli and Girish Bhatnagar got married two years ago through a matrimonial site. Girish’s sister was also living with them at their home in Galaxy Vega Apartments falling under the jurisdiction of Bisrakh police station, the police said.
As per the report, Girish Bhatnagar used to work in Delhi but had quit his job six months ago. Some time back he got to know that this was his wife’s second marriage. The police have found a suicide note from the spot, the report said.
Quoting the alleged suicide note, the cops said Girish Bhatnagar had also come to know that his wife suspected his relationship with his sister. It made Girish mentally disturbed and affected their married life.
“This (Monday) morning when the wife’s brother and relatives tried contacting her on phone there was no response. After several attempts to reach out to her, those nearby came to their apartment,” SHO Akhilesh Tripathi of Bisrakh Police Station was quoted as saying in the report.
“When they found that the door of the house was bolted from inside they raised an alarm and called the police,” the SHO was further quoted.
SHO Tripathi reportedly said when the door was broken open, the bodies of the couple were found inside the house.
While the body of Manisha had severe injuries on the head and was soaked in blood, Girish’s body was found hanging from a ceiling, the police said.
Girish’s sister was not at home when the incident took place.
The bodies were sent for post-mortem and the police have started investigating the matter.
